Welcome to the WA Health Conference 2008 – Our Health, Our Future.

The conference will be our third annual event and revolves around our six strategic directions - healthy workforce, healthy hospitals, healthy partnerships, healthy communities, healthy resources and healthy leadership.

This year’s event will particularly focus on three of these – communities, workforce and leadership – in keeping with the theme of the conference.

The challenges of improving lifestyles, preventing of ill-health, meeting workforce demands and promoting strong leadership will affect us all and will shape health care into the future.

What will our healthcare needs be in 2020 and beyond? Who will be working in healthcare in WA? What jobs will they be doing? What are we doing, or can we do, today to lay the foundations for the healthcare system of tomorrow?

This conference provides us with an opportunity to explore these fascinating questions and also to become better informed about what is happening across the organisation and what we can look forward to in the future.
